1. General
- ClaimFix provides tools to assist patent practitioners in drafting and amending claims to comply with common formal requirements.
- These tools only check for a subset of potential formal issues and are not a substitute for a thorough professional review.
- The site also offers other utilities designed to streamline the preparation and prosecution of patent applications.
- This site is entirely free to use and contains no advertising.
2. Privacy and Confidentiality
2.1. User Data
- All processing and analysis is performed entirely within the local web browser, locally on the user's machine.
- No data entered into ClaimFix (e.g., claim text) is ever transmitted out of the web browser. What happens on the user's computer stays on the user's computer.
- Your browser's console logs should show no outbound data transmission from using ClaimFix. An audit of this site's code is always welcome to verify this.
- NOTE: The confidentiality of data on a user's computer may be compromised by software unrelated ClaimFix (e.g., browser extensions, malware, keyloggers, etc.). This applies to all data on the user's computer and is unrelated to ClaimFix.
2.2. Tracking, Analytics, and Cookies
To further support privacy, ClaimFix does NOT:
- use cookies,
- collect analytics or tracking data (not even anonymously), or
- load any third-party resources, such as external fonts, scripts, or styling libraries.
NOTE: Third-parties (e.g., Cloudflare, ISPs, network administrators, etc.) may collect metadata about the user's computer and websites visited (e.g., date/time, IP address, OS, browser type, browsing history, etc.). However, this metadata does not include any data entered into ClaimFix (e.g., claim text).
3. Offline Functionality
- All functionalities of ClaimFix execute locally in the web browser and this site works without an active internet connection (after the site initially loads).
- The entirety of ClaimFix may be saved locally to your computer and used offline. A "Download This Site" button is provided above. If preferred, the site may be saved manually (e.g., File > Save As..., right-click > Save Page As...).
- For convenience, the entire site is compiled into a single HTML file.
